Varun manages the Good Food Institute’s (GFI) activities in India. GFI works to promote substitutes for farmed animal products which are free of suffering. They campaign for legislative changes, they provide strategic support to alternative meat companies, they connect researchers and innovators with opportunities, and they educate institutions about the importance of plant-based and clean meat R&D for sustainability, global health, and combatting climate change.
Varun studied at Carnegie Mellon University and has experience in healthcare, entrepreneurship, technology, and venture capitalism. He serves on the boards of a number of Asian technology companies and is assisting them with entering the Indian market. He is also working on establishing an Effective Altruism Foundation in India.
