Lecture Theatre

3:00 pm - 3:30 pm

General

Susan will outline some of the benefits and problems of health measures used in public health and demography, such as crude and age-standardised death rates, life expectancy estimates, Quality Adjusted Life Years (QALYs) and Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs). Susan will also discuss some of the broader issues involved in health evaluation, such as the extent to which people’s subjective well-being should be incorporated into measures of population health.
