EAGx Australia 2020 Retreat (Date TBA)

Join us during the week following the conference for an engaging retreat with fellow members of the effective altruism community. This retreat is intended for people who plan to dedicate (or already are dedicating) a significant proportion of their time or money to effectively tackling some of the world’s most pressing issues.
Goals + Activities
At this retreat you can expect a mix of engaging discussions, workshops, co-working on projects, leisure activities such as games, group walks, and swimming, and enjoying the company of like minded people. We aim to bond with and develop the capability of our community, and to make progress on EA projects.
Details
The retreat will start the day after the conference, and will run for 5 days.
You are asked to come for a minimum of two nights, and we prefer people to come for the whole time. The location is the Kioloa Coastal Campus, by the beach in South Coast New South Wales, approximately 2.5 hours from Canberra and 5 hours from Sydney by car. We will organise ride-sharing to the retreat from Canberra, and back to Sydney and Canberra after the retreat. Public transport is also available.
Catering will be plant-based with everyone pitching in to help cook and clean.
The cost will be approximately $200 for the whole retreat, including food and accommodation (less if you only come for part of the retreat). Partial or full funding, including transportation costs, is likely to be available for students and people on low-incomes.

The retreat and conference have been postponed due to the outbreak of COVID-19 , but we would still appreciate you letting us know if you would like to come. Please fill out this initial application form to express your interest. Note that this form does not lock you in to going to the retreat. We only have a limited number of places, so sadly not everyone who wants to come will be accepted.
