Sydney UniversityEAGxAustralia is being held at the historic University of Sydney. Founded in 1850, it is Australia’s first university and is regarded as one of the world’s leading universities.

Friday night keynote venue: Eastern Avenue Auditorium (Map)

Weekend conference: Veterinary Sciences Conference Centre (Map)

Google Maps is quite accurate for planning your travel around Sydney.

Getting to the Venue

Public Transport

Sydney University is easily accessible using bus or train. The closest train station is Redfern. Central is also close with many connecting bus options. Use Google Maps to plan your trip and to estimate fare costs.

If you are flying into Sydney, take the train from the airport to Redfern Station. You will need to purchase an Opal card at the airport. Then walk, taxi, or Uber to the venue.

The Sydney University campus is just on the edge of downtown Sydney so it can be difficult to park. There is a flat rate of $24/day to park on the university grounds so we would recommend trying to find free street parking nearby (Glebe to the north or near Newtown to the southwest).

Walking and Cycling

Sydney’s roads, footpaths and bike paths are all very well mapped by Google and the time estimates are fairly accurate. Unfortunately, there is no city bike hire scheme however you can find local bike shops that will rent you a bike. Helmets are mandatory in NSW.

You will see signs guiding you to the registration desk, where you’ll be given conference materials.
